Usually the larger craters occur individually, whilst the smaller ones are often found in small densely packed clusters. Small impurities are often visible in the centre of the crater.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4b2ac1a6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4b2ac1a6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Cause<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"standfirst\">Variations in the surface tension of the paint. The most common reasons for this are:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Silicone in the environment or on the surface of the substrate; even minute traces are sufficient to cause cissing.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Contamination by other sources, such as grease, dried soap, detergent, spray dust, wax, or oil from the spray gun.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Incompatible elements in the primer.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Saturation by fumes in the spray booth.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4353cc45 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4353cc45\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/p><ol><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Thoroughly clean any silicone polishes from the surface to be painted and avoid using silicone polishes in the vicinity of the paint shop. Prepare the surface using the same preparation procedure as that set out below.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Thoroughly clean the surface with wax and grease remover.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Do not allow cleaning solvents to dry on the surface but remove with a clean dry cloth, using the cloth only once.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Clean surfaces prior to sanding and always ensure that all sanding dust is removed. Prepare bare metal surfaces with metal conditioner.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Repeat the solvent cleaning operation prior to commencing spraying.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Ensure that the spray gun and compressed air equipment is properly maintained.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Always use the recommended materials.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Ensure that the spraying area is properly ventilated.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff3e645 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff3e645\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Rectification<\/strong><\/p><p>Remove the paint completely from the affected area repaint, following the recommended preparation procedure. In extreme circumstances it may be necessary to use an anticissing additive.
