The surface may have greasy or tacky spots, be coated with particles, or feel gritty.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7aca1115 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7aca1115\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Cause<\/strong><\/p><p><span class=\"standfirst\">Foreign substances or chemicals adhering to, or becoming embedded in the paint. Common sources are:<\/span><\/p><ol><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Tree sap and resins, wet leaves, berries, fruit or bird droppings allowed to remain on the paint.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Metallic particles becoming embedded in the surface of the paint and oxidising.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Salt deposits resulting from the evaporation of liquids on the surface. These may also lead to blistering.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Cement or other chemically active dust.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-430accfb elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"430accfb\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Prevention<\/strong><\/p><ol><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Do not allow any deposits to remain on the paint surface.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Ensure the paint film is fully cured.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">Store vehicles under cover and away from possible sources of contamination. Take special care not to expose new paint finishes to environments likely to cause contamination.<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"standfirst\">If an oven or drying room is used ensure that the filtration system is working properly, and that no industrial fumes enter the room.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-31bd372 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"31bd372\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Rectification<\/strong><\/p><p>Light staining may be removed by washing the surface with a mild detergent solution, followed by washing with a 10% Oxalic acid solution to remove ferrous compounds. Rinse, compound and polish to re-store the gloss.
